Hi, question for the more knowlegeable. How to tell if the center stand is for SMT? I have a few pictures from the seller but he does not know anything about it.
There is a powerparts number for a skid plate that is meant for SMT but that's the only clue I've got...
Can you help out, please? Cheers!
Is this a center stand for SMT?

Thank you guys, hope you are right!
Do you know how much it weights with all the fixings?

I would say (have not weighted it!) probably around 2 to 2.5 kg.

Re: Is this a center stand for SMT?
Looks like the one I installed on my SMT. Good stand I just needed to red loctite the right mounting nut, otherwise it would get loose often. I tried blue first. The left one stays tight.

Confirmed here as well. That's the one!
I just installed one last weekend on my 2010. Not very hard at all, and really nice to have a proper stand.

more ... center stand for SMT...installation ... Akrapovic
I took a shot at it.
I picked up an awesome 2010 KTM 990 SMT recently. It has a full Akrapovic system.
I wanted a center stand for this bike. One vendor online made a note claiming in the product description this KTM center stand wouldn't work with Akrapovic system. I tried to get an answer from the seller as to why it won't fit, the customer service was terrible, got no answer, but the price was great $136 shipped. I called my local KTM dealer and they were useless. I did get back an email response from another online seller that KTM doesn't indicate the KTM center stand for the SMT is incompatible with Akrapovic system.
The SW-Motech center stand is like $300, and when I called them, while they couldn't verify it would fit, they said I could buy, eyeball it, and return if it wouldn't fit. If I tried to install they wouldn't take back. I can understand that I guess.
Since I couldn't get the true answer, I figured it was worth a shot for $136 to try installing the KTM center stand.
The instructions, see above thread, absolutely suck. The most important picture is the smallest one, and it's reallllly small. It's going to take trial and error and all your imagination to piece this thing together.
Short answer: it's true, the stand won't work with the Akrapovic system. Although there may be other installation problems, this was the deal breaker for me once the stand was "installed" but not torqued down. The right side bracket comes down too close to the header pipe and exhaust spring/hook assembly welded to the pipe. Not only does this make bolting the stand to the bracket impossible, when the stand is fully in the down position it makes contact in such a way that it pushes the whole exhaust header 1/4 inch forward. All this is with a freezing cold pipe in a winter garage. Heat the pipe and who knows what will happen to cause problems.
I have pics, I can post them here if requested.
Now, I ended up buying from the company with the incompatibility warning because they had the lowest price. I can't (won't) send it back, as I was warned and the parts aren't new anymore since I tried to install.
But I have a stand I can't use without acquiring and installing a stock header pipe, which isn't going to happen.
So someone here with a 990 SMT (and maybe even other KTM models? Like Supermoto?) with a STOCK EXHAUST HEADER could get a real deal. I'm thinking if you want to pay me to ship it to you, and if you can get it installed, I'll take what you think it's worth to pay me for the stand.
