Congrats. You are in a great part of the country to enjoy this bike. I grew up in Silverton, CO and a road trip back home is in the cards for my 1290.

I live in Idaho Falls Idaho, not to far from you. Just got back from a 3000 mile ride up through Canada on the katoom 1290!! had a great trip. my only issue is the fuel gauge and how sometimes when you fill it up it just stays at full. Most of this last trip it worked fine, until about day 8. It read full all day, no low fuel warning came on or anything. Had about 40 miles to go for the day to a friends house and boom, out of gas!! Brutally hot out and stuck on the side of the road with an empty 8 gallon tank. wont let that happen again. Have you had any issue with the fuel gauge and if so, you got a fix for it? thanks.

1) Idaho Falls is not what I'd consider close to Colorado.
2) There is a fix for your fuel sender, should be warranty work unless you want to handle it yourself. It involves pulling the sender from the tank and shaving the float. Youtube it.
3) Advrider is a better forum. Period.

It’s super easy to do yourself. Just look it up on YouTube and you’ll have no problem doing it. After the panels are off it’s only two screws to take the sender out.
