Security for soft luggage
Hi all, first time for me on this great forum....I was wondering if there are any solutions for securing the standard SMT soft luggage to the bike?. I know there are small padlocks to secure the zips but are there any gizzmos to lock the luggage to the bike? I'm off on weeks tour to the Route Nepoloen soon and would like to get the luggage secured.

Yes, there is a so called security kit.
From the inside (with those knobs) you lock the bags on the bike, then with those zipper locks, you lock the zippers on the bags...

We toured for 8 weeks with no locks on the bags. No problems with anyone wanting to take them off. You would have to know how anyway. But we did keep everything important on ourselves or locked in top box

Thanks for the info guys, I'll check out the security kit. I assume it's an offcial KTM piece of kit so I'll check out my local dealership for more details.

I'm just using zip-ties on the lower mount to keep the bags on. That's enough to keep honest people honest

Re: Security for soft luggage
Hi guys,
I've got a security kit for my soft bags last week. I know from the "poor" instructions that I'll have to make a hole in the bags! This means a "non-reversible" intervention! Before to start (and before to make bad mistakes!) I'd like to ask if somebody has already mounted the security kit for soft bags on a 990 smt and, in this case, if he can share with me some more detailed instructions! I was not able to find anything on the web.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Security for soft luggage
This is pretty good. A bit of a faff to get round at first but you can wrap it round a couple of bags easy enough.
