Anybody on here added additional indicators to the gt? I got a set of mw motech kobra handgaurds and would like to get the indicators available for them.
My dealer says it’s not poss as the extra load would throw a fault code? Anybody done this and if so how and what outcome.
Cheers

Re: Additional indicators/ blinkers
When you purchase the SW Motech LED turn signals for the SW Motech Kobra Handguards they can be purchased with a resistor ( https://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-mote ... s-sertao-2 ). My KTM Dealer installed them but, had no difficulty posi-taping into the OEM turn signals.

Best,

Excellent news but on reading the SW Motech website it says resistor is only required on non led type turn signals? It also says original indicators must be disconnected as well.
Do you know how your dealer wired them in? Planning on doing it myself.
Thanks for the reply.

Can be of no assistance. Have no idea how Eurosport of Asheville wired the turn signals ( https://eurosportasheville.com/home ). Do know the resistor is attached to the inside of the hand guard. You can see it. Best,

Re: Additional indicators/ blinkers
G'day Pk1,
The supplier might just be conforming to local laws/standards by stating the oem indicators need to be disconnected. Maybe the lawmakers think too many flashing lights might confuse some car muppets
I installed similar LEDs to my Caponord's handguards. I went with the white continuously on style but they weren't very bright in broad daylight. I guess anything that helps blind motorists see you is a plus
and the Doc's extra winkers might add to safety at 'T' intersections (extra side vision as bars turn).
You could wire them in as continuously on instead of winking..... like side lights on big trucks..... the oem indicators are fantastic and I wouldn't disconnect them.
Cheers

Re: Additional indicators/ blinkers
Cheers for that Dave spoke to a local supplier who concurred with what you just said about regs on 2 sets of indicators in certain countries. I ordered a set from him but plan on having both sets working at the same time.
My only question is doc/Gary club says he has resistors fitted on his, I can see no reason for these as they are to reduce the flash rate on 10 to 20 w bulbs.
The supplier I ordered from had the same thoughts my only concern is that the extra 1watt load may poss throw a fault code up on the canbus system, however if docs are working I don’t see why, or how the resistor would stop this?
I can access the rear indicator wires below the pillion seat and t in a splice on one additional loose indicator to test, before I start to dismantle the front to locate the wiring for the front indicators to install properly.
So here’s hoping it goes to plan.
Cheers for your thoughts

Re: Additional indicators/ blinkers
Managed to fit the additional blinkers in the handgaurds no resistor was required
