I got the manual from my dealer this week. KTM like BMW before them, got smart and made the manual way more complex than a simple PDF. There are thousands of files pulled together by an HTML front end. Not as simple as a single PDF like in previous manuals. I would guess that the only way to send the disc would be to create an ISO of the disc.

I am new to the forum and I am picking up my SMT (2009) very soon. If anyone has the full service manual on PDF, would anyone be able to make it possible for me to download it or send it to me?

Thanks very much in advance.
Cheers, Neil

The manual comes in 2 CD's the SMR & SMT section is locked you can't copy it to your hard drive or copy the Disc.

I just dug right in and avoided the HTML. In the SMT folder there's an Windows executable that extracts the SMT manual as a tmp file and displays it in a crippled acrobat window. If you right click on the displayed page and choose properties you can see the path to this tmp file. On my windows 7 pc it was the only .tmp file in c:/ProgramData. Copy that tmp file to another location and rename it as a pdf. Now you can open it directly in Acrobat.

The rest of what you're looking for is in /LC8 03-11/Englisch.

RA LC8 2011-E.pdf is the complete engine manual. The docs for the suspension are actually in the Federbeine and Gabein subfolders. The similarly named pdf's in the Englisch subfolder just link to those.

KTM sells one that comes on a CD or DVD. It covers all the v-twins if I remember correctly. Its a PDF file and a pain to use......would be nice to have an actual paper shop manual like the old days.

Books are nice but I don't mind the PDF. I keep copies of them on docs.google.com so I can reference them from work or home. I can also print out just the section I need.

Slightly annoying that the KTM PDF's are locked such that you can't copy text but I just uploaded the SMT pdf to http://freemypdf.com/ and it unlocked it just fine.

I haven't looked that hard but it appears you only need the SMT pdf and the engine pdf file and that will cover every cubic centimeter of the bike. The SMT pdf appears to show a detailed tear down of the fork and shock. The other suspension pdf's are focused on other models.

No, that's the correct doc, part number 3.206.107. Click on the product image. It says "950/990 SUPERMOTO/R/T"

Oh, I see what you're saying. Perhaps they recycled the product description from the superseded part number.

FWIW, I got mine from ktm-parts for $30.62 shipped.
