Yeah.....here it is (hope it's real and not a hoax..... )

Something to look forward to with revisions to headlight (LED) screen (taller, wider?) and the TFT dash is go!

My Sydney BMW contact is looking at a GT and spotted this on the infernal web.....

Only good thing about shopping......well, two good things......air-con on a stinking summers day, and I slip a copy of my bike bible into the trolley........

So here's what our AMCN magazine crew reckon is on it's way to a bike shop near me soon......
2018 SD GT.jpeg

If it arrives after July in 2018, it will probably be called a 2019 model in the US......but in any case the journo's reckon it looks too ready for release to be held up until calendar year 2019.

Cheers all.......thunder storm over, still hot as darkness comes to steamy old Brisbane Aus..... ;)

Oh boy, do I like driving my new Tuscon Active... :D ......makes me feel brand new again......only cost me 4 cups of coffee (that'll be about $8000.00Aus a cup please sir.......and you can take the keys to the blue one  ).

Agreed........I like mine as it is......and it's comforting to know the updates are mostly cosmetic/TFT dash type (ie no motor mods necessary).

All the more reasons I hope my dealer finds me a 2017 (I have made a deal but his last one sold the day before I went back in to make the deal). I have had two bikes with keyless systems, including my current BMW 1600 and don't like it because I prefer to leave a key in the ignition and not have to go hunt down my FOB in whichever jacket I last wore, and I dislike tachometers that are not needles on a round dial.

I also agree with the last post.......I'm a very agreeable person today......(pinch)......yep I'm not dreaming..... must be ill........ anyway, I also like the BIG numbers they put on the TFT screen......but haven't ridden with one so can't say for sure.......I have ridden a Multistrada 1200s touring with TFT dash and it was fussy and hard to read the details in trip meter etc.....but it had an excellent fuel bar gauge and the tacho numbers got bigger as the tach hit them.......easily amused ...I am.... ...... still the 2017 GT dash works for me even thought it reflects the sun into my visor at 11am.......

I have a Panigale with the color TFT dash. I like everything about it except the tach. Maybe it's just all the years of "muscle memory", but I just find it a lot easier to follow the sweep of a needle in a round motion. I know that some digital dashs can mimic that motion, but most have a straight across motion and "bars" rather than a smooth movement (kind of hard to explain).

I've obviously have lived with the digital dash on that bike for five years and 19,000 miles, but just not my preference. The red needle on white background of my S1000R is by far my all time favorite.

Yep, just had a 200 km ride and I like the tach needle digital speedo combination - easy on the eye, don't need to study it while in motion - of course the V2 motor is it's own tacho by ear........and that angry flashing gear change warning lamp.....
