A great photo in a great part of the world KTMSpecial!

This is a pic of the caldera of the Mt. St Helen's volcano taken a couple of years ago and a pic of me sitting on one of the trees blasted flat by it several miles away. I don't get over there very often sadly because of the distance from Texas, but I did get back in August of this year, and spent a week driving through the forest fire smoke but still incredible :D .

Cheers Allan, that first pic brings back lots of memories.......there was a chalet on the shore of a beautiful lake at the foot of Mt St H.......then the eruption covered it and everything else for miles and miles.

The visitor centre screens an interesting documentary which finishes with the screen rising to reveal the volcano ...... If you live anywhere near a volcano......lookout

Yes indeed, a very long ride by 747........oooeeee was I glad to get off that thing...... but we had a fabulous holiday riding Harley D road kings around the great western half of the US.........long time ago now, and pretty expensive trip due to hiring bikes instead of cars or mini bus, but hey, what a way to travel

Hi DaveNZ,

I had to take a double take at your photo,as i was in the same spot (well not exactly) as you last saturday.
Amazing country down in that part of the SI

We went from Invercargill to Woodend on the Saturday.

Hang a left after Twizel and head up to Mt Cook. Well worth the trip. :D

Cheers
