Did KTM not come with a software update that would fix the speedometer off by 10% ?

I measures mine comparing to the GPS, and it's exactly 10% off. It's as if the software was designed for another bike or set up, and they forgot to update it...

We have seen 3 dash updates on the 1290's & the Speedo error has never been addressed, we have tested the modified ABS rings with the latest dash update & the dash reads within +1MPH of a GPS.

I have the new dash update and the speedo has not been fixed. The good thing about the update is, the bike now stays in sport mode with out it returning to road when you turn it off. I have kevs rings but I been to lazy to put them on

So, will adding a 16T front sprocket move the speedo the other way if we have these rings fitted ?

The front sprocket has no affect on the Speedo reading, the Speedo gets it's signal from the ABS front sensor.

I have had mine fitted and they work well. No dramas, except for the toolbags at the local dealer who used RED Locktite on my rear wheel, to stop it wobbling....we broke the torsion bar undoing the wheel nut ! Idiots.

I decided to take off the rear hub yesterday for a check of the bearings and hub condition, to my surprise one of the locating dowels for the rear wheel had cracked. :o

Upon closer inspection it looks to have been damaged from using an allen key to stop the dowel turning when my rear disc was replaced.

The replacement is made of steel instead of cast alloy, does anyone know if this was a warranty/recall issue I may have missed?

I have already ordered another 4 steel dowels but at $30 aus each its a steep fix.

That is a new one to me, I would be contacting the guy who replaced the disc to make a claim.

Turns out they are cast steel not alloy but the new ones are much stronger (possibly hi-tensil)
Unfortunately for me the new ones are a completely loose fit unlike the old ones that I had to press out.
Correct part numbers though, I checked against the KTM parts fische...damn.

Now the bike may need a whole new axel just to fit any new dowel's in it :x

Part number for the dowel is 61310113000. Qty 5. It's the new one pictured above in first photo in NewyKTM's post.

Probably worth checking if you have the old dowels in your axle.

Here are the 4 taken out today. Decent cracks, a bit further chewed up from removal though.
