Part price non-sense

Post by Bootworks » Tue Mar 22, 2016 7:05 pm

Back from a NorCal 800 mile blast, the screw holding the clutch reservoir gone AWOL. I stopped at my dealer on my way in, looks like KTM only lists the small bracket holding up the reservoir, it includes the two screws, top and bottom. Price? US$ 51.00 Whisky Tango Foxtrot? Had a good laugh!

Sounds about right...Everything for this bike is big $$$ My high beam switch wore out so I checked to see how much it would be... $225! At least this time it's under warranty.

KTM is funny that way. Some parts are surprisingly affordable, some make you glad you can fabricate small stuff. The headlight lens on my SMT looked old and opaque, before I tried to buff it I priced a replacement: The ass'y was $65, glad to have a new reflector! Made the bike look nearly new!

eBay is your friend, also, most of the reservoirs and brackets are Brembo shared btw different bikes.

I mounted a Denali on mine. Real estate is limited, of course. For an idea, here is where I put mine.

Try ordering parts from the US to Oz - crazy prices and not because of the Exchange rate- and delivery prices are worse -
