Front reservoir leak

Post by alanforn » Tue Sep 01, 2015 1:57 am

Did my first track day and had a blast. The one downer was sitting in the pits and glancing at bike and noticed what appeared to be bubbles in the tank...they were bubbles, front res had slight seep which I guess was released by the speeds and sloshing side to side. I had problems early on with a weep with the stock cap, either too tight or too loose and it weeped. Finally found the right spot..or thought I had.

Before I start contemplating a repaint I'd like to replace reservoir with one that isn't so touchy, imagine as long as capacity and hose outlet is similar along with mount should be OK.

If anyone knows a good replacement please let me know, I'd rather not fit one of those sweatband thingies.

I had the same issue with the stock cap. I tried many times to reseat the seal and snug down the bolts evenly...that would always work for a short while and then it would happen again. I switched to the PP metal cap and haven't had a problem since.

Mine was slightly overfilled - on the side stand it touched the rim of the fluid cap - removed a small amount - happy days no sepage-
