soft side bags 62012025100 and 62012925000

Post by pabloXtC » Fri Apr 12, 2013 1:46 pm

HI,
I want to buy original soft side bags to my 2013 SMT.
And I have the problem. There is no model 62012025100 on the European KTM stock. The dealer proposes me the model 62012925000.
Does someone know if some differences are? Is 62012925000 the newest or older version???

im wondering why your smt didnt come with panniers? mine and many other did. I just asked a buddy at my local ktm dealer and he says the 2013 panniers look exactly the same and he will get his parts guy to look up the different part numbers

We don't get the soft/side bags with the bike here in Australia either, disappointing.
I've been looking into purchase some and have learnt that, Product Code: 62012025100 has been superseded by Product Code: 62012025100A.
I've found no explanation of what's different.

Don't be too disappointed that they weren't included. Mine failed pretty spectacularly and they are so oddly shaped that they don't hold much anyway.

When I bought mine recently it came with the OEM bags.
One of the latches had failed (actually fell apart and lost) and Ive inquired about a replacement so I can use them.

Apparently you cannot buy the latch or parts thereof, only a complete set of bags for $855 FFS
THats just not cool at all :(

If anyone knows any different, please let me know.
Otherwise Ill have to make one.

A KTM dealer in Austraia has an online shop and sells them for $499.

They have lots of other stuff too.

Same thing happened to me (before the zipper burst).

I had been riding in rain and when I attempted to remove the bag I found the latch to be full of road grit and was difficult to pull. I gave a bit stronger tug and yanked the plastic knob off, resulting in the steel pin shooting across the shed. Luckily the floor was bare and I found the pin and spring, cleaned and reassembled with some glue. I was planning to make a steel or brass knob and use a set screw to attach it more permanently but the zipper gave way before I managed. Still looking for someone that can install a new zipper or just find a different set of bags I can afford for occasional use.

Who knows, I just had a few days off was planning getting some rides in, thinking of early starts to avoid the heat , last thing I thought we'd get was rain and so much of it.
I think the spring is still in the broken one. Wouldn't mind a couple ( keep the Oem one as spare)
if you end up getting around to it

Has anyone bought these pins yet? I just want to make sure I'm getting the right thing. I love my bike but the luggage could use some help. I have the same pin problem. I have spent a bit of time off road in Baja with mine and the pins can't seem to take the fine dust too well before they lock up and then fail when attempting to remove.

Thanks
