Happy Easter and so on...
I´m doing a front fork renovation. All looks good, but I have already bought the bushings and sealings and have replaced them.
Going to put all together, but as the repair manual says; one need a special tool
Could anyone tell me what the tool does?
I understand that it is pressing the adjusting tube (the 'aluminum pipe') down, inside the cartridge.
From the repair manual:
"The special tool must be used to prevent the adjusting tube from being raised, which would cause oil to enter into the piston rod."
But, is the tool pressing the adjusting tube all the way down to it bottoms, or is it just pressing it down to the same level as the threaded part of the fluid barrier?
Here be mechanigeeks. Anything technical that is not a teething problem.
