You would need to ask Dyno Jet UK who built the map, as their trim tables for that map do not show the A/F targets, I know they mainly tune at 13.2:1

The base map was Akra all years map KM626EU0802031Map.hex which was tuned as 13.2:1 The 2nd flies and shafts were also removed when the map was built.
990SMT 09 (orange 1s are faster) - Akra evo system, DNA Mk3, 2nd flies & shafts removed, SAS removed, O2 sensors disabled, PCV with custom single cylinder map, FTR fork & shock re-valve, tail tidy, SMR grab rails

What do you think as far as acceptable variance +/- would cause a significant difference? :geek:

According KTM manual is tps voltage 0.55-0.65 so best is 0.6

Thanks for that Spark01, but when sharing maps the TPS values need to be match both bikes otherwise the fuel points will be out, everyone seems to over look this important part of the process.

Hi guys don't do the same mistake as me DONT completely remove the TPS. Just do as kev said loosen the torxs screw and turn the TPS to get the correct voltage...The problem is that the TPS are inserted to the axle with a half turn halfway....Yes a bit tricky but think i got the things back as it should be :)

Anyone that knows why TuneEcu says that my throttle is "only" open 95% when i give full throttle on the handle?

That is correct at 95%.

Hi Dani,

Yes I also have the MWR side door filters fitted (power kit), however the right filter requires a modification to allow the throttle body cables to entry the air box on 990 models. If you PM me your email I can send you some photos & the dyno results.

The 6/ 2009-2010 KTM 990SM M18-005-504 map was built with the below mods:
SMT/R Akra all years base map
Akro evo full system with baffles removed
MWR filter and airbox side door filters
2nd flies and shafts removed
Standard stacks
O2 eliminators fitted & disabled with tuneecu
SAS & EPC removed/disabled
95 ron fuel / mapped @ 13.2:1
990SMT 09 (orange 1s are faster) - Akra evo system, DNA Mk3, 2nd flies & shafts removed, SAS removed, O2 sensors disabled, PCV with custom single cylinder map, FTR fork & shock re-valve, tail tidy, SMR grab rails

Does the bike running make a difference or does it just need to be at operating temp?

Bike running, with the engine at operating temp then check the TPS voltage.

Just a reminder that Tune ECU version 2.3.2 had a problem with importing trims to both F1 & F2 table so please update your to version 2.3.3 which is working fine. I got caught on the 18/7 with this problem.

Update July -17-2012, TuneECU 2.3.3 now Released
Note:
* Fixed bug: in version 2.3.x when changing map parameters.

I have also listed the last map for the RC8 stacks Kev RC8 21.7.12.PCV imported.hex I am working on the Dual velocity stacks again.

Today i did everything right but all felt wrong. First this morning i installed TuneEcu 3.2.3 downloaded Kev RC8 21.7.12.PCV imported.hex.
Increased the fuel in F-trim with 2%. Downloaded the map to the ecu and set the TPS voltage to 0.63 volt (with the ignition on and cold engine) drove away from the neighborhood to not disturb the neighbors to much when doing the 15min TPS. Everything did feel very fine and smooth.

After a 30min ride i set the TPS voltage from 0.52 to 0.63 volts with the engine at operating temperature and idling, let the engine get cold and set the bike on a centerstand and did a 15 min TPS reset.
Vent for a test ride and ewerthing felt wrong. On the lower rpm the engine were very on/off just as on the akra map. On the higher rpm the bike fellt great but when letting go of the throttle the bike were very on/off. One time in the speed range of 20-30km/h the engine died.

Don't know what i did wrong but my guess is that something with the TPS voltage is to blame....?

Just cut open the orginal triangles from the airbox and glue there some fine gauze in there.
Bet it is cheaper (orginal triangles are ~3 euro per piece ;) )

So I finally did it after almost 2 years of owning the bike.

Leo Slip On's with the Y-pipe.
BMC Air Filter
Secondary Flies out, shafts still there.
SAS Removed
02's out (already done before)
EPC off (Both ways)
SAI off
RC8 Stacks
KEV RC8 18/7/12 Hex Map

Crap 10% Ethanol RON 95 California Fuel

TPS .64v
Throttle 0-97%

Still waiting to get a CPR Perf. Filter, but here are my observations:

Bike runs a bar cooler easily.
15 lbs off the bike.
Very linear response. I was getting fairly well aclimated to the "bright" response, but this is nice.
Second gear roll on wheelies - that's new!
Less engine braking.
Very pleased and do not notice any glitches with fueling.
Will do my commute on it over the next couple of day and report mpg, then off to Laguna Seca for a ride and tire consumption.

Great job Kev!!!! Many thanks for your hard work! :!:

I think that even though the stock airbox is in place our leaner burning crap fuel is putting it pretty spot on.
I think once the CPR box comes the fueling will have to be richened up that 2-4%.

It you open both maps using the Tune ECU compare file function, you will be able to see what changes Kev made to the map.

SM990 2008
Motoholigan air box
RC8 Stacks
Mivv Suonos (baffles in)
2nd flies removed (shafts still in)
O2 eliminators fitted
SAS removed
PCV
AT200 (300 not out when I bought mine)

Loaded Kevs latest map (Kev RC8 21.7.12 PCV) through Tune ECU (3.2.3), TPS voltage 0.64 (no need to adjust ?) Added 4% to the F Trims (I think, cos when I unticked the "Use F trims for all tables" all the values went back to 0. Did the 15min reset thing. Set all the F1 &F2 tables to 0 on PCV and left Autotune running with target AFR's on as recomended by Kev 13.8 upto 4250rpm inc and 15% throttle inc.

Took it out and seat of the pant tells me it pulls better (front wheel lifting 1st,2nd and now easy in 3rd gear off the throttle). Top end seems more tame (Previosly just KTM Akra map loaded) or maybe it's just more linier power so you can use it all. Overall it feels pretty good.

It does feel a bit like an on/off switch at lower RPM especially 3000 RPM (30mph 5th gear) so checked out what autotune trim was trying to do after 50 mls. Most of the table is within -1% to -6% but at 2750 -3250 rpm 0 -10 % throttle the AT is showing all minus double figure 11- 20%.

I'm really only just starting to understand how this all works so thanks to everybody out there for all the informative posts.

Should I accept the AT suggestions ?

Hi Paule,

That's interesting; I have similar mods and encountered similar results in the UK with Kev’s map loaded. I think the bike runs rich in lower rpm ranges, I’m no expert but if I import my pcv map (built in UK) into Tune ECU then compare it to Kev’s map it also looks quite a bit richer at the bottom. No doubt Kev will chime in shortly with a few suggestions :?:

If I were you I would accept the AT suggestions on PCV map 1 and leave map 2 tables at zero, this would allow you to switch between them allowing you test each back to back.

If accepting AT adjustments improves the on/off throttle I would be interested in a copy of the PCV map or an imported Tune ECU version of Kev’s map to test in my bike :D
