sw motech crash bars

Post by Monco1960 » Thu Oct 11, 2018 2:22 pm

I am thinking of putting some sw motech crash bars on my 2017 black 1290 super duke, mind boggles as to if they would suit as its only used on street, any opinions on these crash bars please would be welcome.

G'day Monco1960 from he other side of the planet

I looked at the SW Motech bars for my 1290GT and they are very solid with three mounting points, but I thought they might possibly be leg breakers as they are close to the rider (I've read about bike journo's getting broken legs in slow speed off's with certain close fitting crash bars). May not be an issue (I couldn't get down to my KTM shop to inspect them) however I went with another type that looks great (but only has two mounting points)........ they are made by IBEX and might suit your SDR (and they come in black/silver/orange)

Ps -they also fit snug around the radiator and are just what you need if your foot slips while parking etc (crash bars are not only for off road use eh  ).
