Re: No more SD GT, traded for 2020 Ninja 1000SX May 2020

  ........ but still no center stand.... ;) . Glad to hear others are still riding even with metal CV joints in their hips! I was a bit worried when the radiation oncology doctors advise that the blast of radiation they will give me (to control calcification post surgery), ma...

Re: No more SD GT, traded for 2020 Ninja 1000SX May 2020

G'day jjscsix, or should that be "jjscSX"..... ;) I was just reading a review about the 2020 1000SX in my current AMCN bike magazine..... Kawasaki has done a bit of work on them and they are now the same wet weight as the SDGT. A very nice bike! I'm not likely to put many kms/miles on my GT in...

Re: Rear shock spring

G'day Sprint1952, I'm assuming you have a gen 1 SDGT. The spring on mine felt way too soft until I had the 2019GT's suspension software installed - could that be your issue (?). If you haven't had the new software installed, do it, it makes a huge difference! The stock spring copes with a 70-90kg ri...

Re: Preload Adjuster Error / Problems with Mizu lowering kit 1290SDGT

Cheers all...... And yet it has been done successfully ....... lowering a 19SDGT that is ........ see copy of post from 'accessories' thread last year (below).... The wording is important, suggesting it is not a straightforward operation to do it properly. Loski and Steve Gnome are the only two I've...

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

....... Good luck mate, Funny enough, I was reading an article in my current Aus M/C News magazine regarding lowering suspension. Today is Friday down under, and I wasted 2hrs this morning waiting in a hospital specialist clinic for a 10minute medications review consult...... yawn,...$24 parking fee...

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

Hmmmm, I was expecting to read that it was all good..... :( ....... but something isn't right somewhere. Sorry, I haven't read of anybody else that has fitted a lowering kit (other than you & Steve Gnome). There may be some vertically challenged owners lurking on the 'KTM Forum' or 'Adventure Rider'...

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

That sounds promising...... I've not read of anybody doing much +/- fiddling..... SDGT's must be confined to the dealers by the "system" so it's taking a while for aftermarket guys to get a leg in.

Sounds like you're onto it, let us know how you go :)

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

G'day Loski, I think what's going on with the service manager is that he has to charge something as the computerized staff management accounting system cannot allow for any 'good faith' freebie's (or he doesn't know how to manipulate the system, or he is bonus driven and greedy)..... I know of this ...

Re: Super duke high idle

Cheers Roy, Well spotted! Had a similar issue on my 14 caponord 1200...... and learned to be very careful when cleaning/working on these fancy electro-technical wizbang bikes, keeping cloths/hands away from under the levers so as not to accidentally dislodge any micro switches .... the KTM ones are ...

Hope it works out Loski....... even if you send a PM to Steve G .... he may not have set his account up to notify his email inbox - I usually only drop in every few days...... when it gets too intense over on the KTM Forum site  (there's a lot of big ego's on some forum's ;) ).

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

.... 28mm lower... involved a collar on the shock and then machining a new spring mount spacer that restores the original spring compression...... Riding it - you cant really tell the difference. The semi active stuff still all works as advertised..... IMG_2989.jpg G'day Loski...... This forum is a...

Aha..... this one is free..... errr, it isn't a link.... I'm still looking...... back soon...... Damn it.... it works on the 'KTM Forums' site = free 320mb download. Try logging on to the KTM Forum - find Super Duke section, then look at "Treasure Chest of Links" at the top of the page...... Cheers ...

Try this link...

I thought I had downloaded a manual but I can't find it...... forks are the same for the 2016-2020.

Re: LCU failure

G'day Vet 57.... I read somewhere else about one with corner light issue...... but I forget where and what was the cause. My 17GT came from KTM with LED rear indicators fitted so I have no idea if they need any extra components to work properly. I'm sure the KTM diag tool will arc up if they are at ...

Re: KTM paddock stand

I use an ABBA copy main stand (it's a Constand central stand) - it was on sale so being a tighta..e I bought one. It does not have the capacity to add the extra parts for front lifting like the ABBA, but I have a 'La Corsa'- KTM copy front lift stand which is so simple to use. The bike is secure whe...

I'm thinking you may have ordered the SDR link pipe which is different to the SDGT pipe...... 3" too short leads me to believe the SDR link pipe is much shorter....... I haven't fitted mine but it looks the same length as the stock cat resonator and it states in the instructions that it fits the sto...

Wow..... good to know...... nobody has mentioned that detail before so we live and learn ;) . At least you know you only need to get that critical 1st service done anytime between now and 1000kms and you'll be good to go  . Odd limiting the QS..... tends to cause an over rev by not allowing...

Re: 2019 SDGT/R SERVICE RESET PROCEDURE

G'day Vet57air, I have a 17GT which lets me select my own change light trigger rpms via the menu. As far as I know it's just a shift light that we can set to our own preference, not a limiter..... ;) PS The very next email alert was for the same thing on the other forum and I spotted these earlier e...
