Re: Running lumpy, or just a V Twin?

Hi guys, I am the proud owner of a 2014 SuperDuke R, I bought it 2 weeks ago and I am so in love with it. Its my first KTM and my first V Twin after riding big Jap inline fours for nearly 30 years!! The bike runs very very well... but.... I have noticed that in Street mode at low revs, it is quite ...

An accidental discovery re O2 sensors

G'day all, Re; O2 fuel dongles ...... I was testing my SDGT because it recently lost a significant amount of fuel economy and one of the options i tried was - Slip a washer under the O2 sensors  I had read on a car forum that mechanics often put a spacer under the O2 sensor to cure lean runnin...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

G'day Rock, Glad to hear your also doing well. I've just done a 240km ride - with a bit of vigour - but not too serious as there was a lot of traffic out for our 'Mothers Day' celebrations - Sunday brunches/picnics etc :) Sure feels great to be back on the bike and feeling confident with my body.......

Re: MTC and engine light

Cheers JHN, Mine has only ever presented the 'check engine' symbol after i installed a dongle when removing the charcoal filter & purge valve. That dongle had a fault and burnt out, causing several odd warnings like 'suspension failure' and 'Clight something' (wasn't on long enough for me to read it...

Re: What have you added to your gt today?

Cheers Knackers, Take a bit of care putting them on - get used to the little arms under the hooking lugs..... they need to strike the 'slot' neatly. Mine work great, but I don't overload them and I also make sure they are packed to the shape of the lid's. i've now got the quick release racks on so I...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Whooo Hooooo..... 80F = 26.7C........ I'm commin over to stay....... Our summer temps were on average 32C (over 86F) and often over 38C (say 100F) and occasionally in the early 40C's (104F). If the humidity got over 40 or 50% it was just awful and we would sit in front of a fan all day. At 80%...

Thankfully no more surprises......

G'day all, Took my SDGT for a 150km spin out to Beaudersert to check out the Ducati Club's 2019 Bevel & BS run. I discovered my O2 dongle fuel economy has improved from the first ride and now the SDGT returns 18.5k/ltr on the motorway - I think I read somewhere that the economy is less when riding i...

The Things You See in a McDonalds Carpark

G'day all, Dropped in on the Ducati Club's meeting point for their annual weekender for the old Bevel Drive models. They managed to drag 37 out for a run to Tenterfield - even in the face of possible stormy weather ;) . Great bunch of enthusiasts..... and some really nice old bikes (couldn't snap al...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I certainly don't miss this nonsense. Trade her in on a Ninja Dave :D Cheers Rock, No problems with my GT....... I was responding to a post from "Sharonmal" but i suspect it was a Fisching trap as I have had issues with 'Captcha' and Xevil4.0 whatever the fk that is........ I should have known it w...

Re: 2019 SDGT Service indicator reset?

G'day, I've read elsewhere that the kill switch has to be flicked as well as the usual hold the arrows down. I think it is the same procedure for the 018-019 SDR with TFT. Have a look on the 'KTM Forum' site....... I think the "Captcha" adds that are appearing everywhere will kill off the remaining ...

Re: superduke 1290 gt

G'day Tim1960, I'm assuming your 1290GT is 7 months old from new(?)- ah sorry I see it's a 2016..... so the battery was prob due to fail now. Batteries should be good for at least 3 yrs..... except maybe for the snow bound areas...... so I'm wondering if something had drained the battery of power......

For Canister Removal Info

Hi all, When (not if) you remove your charcoal canister to make more space under the rear seat for tyre repair kit and Snapjack SS prop stands etc etc....... keep in mind you DO NOT need to buy a dongle to replace the purge valve. Save the $50Au and simply leave the oem purge valve connected to the ...

O2 lambda removal dongles

Cheers all, Finally had time to install my O2 fuel dongles while the tank was very low in fuel...... :) I rerouted the rear connector so that if anything went wrong on the test ride (like it did with the UK sourced purge valve resistor dongle ;) ) I could easily reattach the lambda probes and go oem...

G'day ktmkazza, Sorry didn't see your post...... this is an old style forum and conversations can get swamped by new posts. Get to your KTM shop and have them plug in the diagnostic tablet..... in the meantime check your battery terminals and fuse blocks and look for any loose connections You haven'...
