Re: Wheelie control
I have managed reasonable power wheelies in sport mode, never tried in street. I have noticed lately with my new tires I'll do a burnout before the front has a chance to come up the engine cuts power, so no 1st gear wheelie, but if I keep on the throttle it will float the front thru 2nd & 3rd. I don...

Re: Reflash and the 3000 to 3800 rpm vibration
Arrow makes a few mid pipes, If yours is strait thru you and your not feeling a loss of mid band power around 6k rpm you probably already have the akra offroad flash. 6th gear is really tall on the sdr/gt but there are a few members that have claimed the OFT completely fixed the low rpm stumble in 6...

Re: Leaky radiator
I was 2 1/2 hours from home and ambient temp was around 80f. I pulled over a few times, checked things over, for glowing orange pipes the best I could, but there was no hint the bike was in any trouble. I have no doubt had I been in traffic she would have gotten hot but sticking to the back roads an...

Re: Leaky radiator
The top seam on my 2016 se also started leaking. I used marine epoxy, capped one end and used suction on the other to pull the stuff in and 4000 miles later knock on wood. I got rid of the cat and loaded the akra map and I rode the bike home DRY and while at stop oil temp would get up to 208f once r...

Nice bike, welcome to the forum. The Beast is just as much fun as you can have on the street. and comfortable to boot.

Re: New owner
Congrats and welcome, I love the way this bike handles! I read all the reviews that complain and I get that the front is light but try and get an I4 to tighten its line mid turn or better yet toss one from side to side, forget about it. as to the power being comparable...just wait for whats coming a...

Re: New 18 SDR Owner
This bike does ok at low rpm's in the first 3 gears but try and keep it above 4k in 4-6th that will also help with the lash of which you speak. I've broke in 2 1290 SDR's now and only having 3-6500 rpm's to play in gets boring really quick, besides I read motoman's break in page and it made sense so...

Re: arrow mid pipe (cat)
I think it depends if the bike is 14-16 or later? either way I passed on the mini arrow cat and got a mid pipe with a couple bends to it for back pressure for both my 15 and 16 model. Both bikes were considerably louder than stock with the cat removed, but still quieter than the modded harleys aroun...

Re: 2015 or 2017 model?
I was in the same boat last year after a kid on an atv pulled out in front of my 2015 sdr and totaled it. I wanted a BLACK SDR and my ins ck was $15,350. The best I could find was $18,500 2017, $13,200 2016 orange or $16,250 2016 SE. No black leftovers anywhere I could find so I bought the se becaus...

Re: puddle of water?
I meant to post there was a puddle of coolant about 3-4 oz worth on the floor and there doesn't appear to be any gasket leaks. The oil in the sight glass looks normal and the little plastic coolant reservoir is dry. Any suggestions to why the bike decided to release several oz's after a ride? I'll a...

2014-16 instrument back lighting
As we all find out after the 600 mile service the back lighting on the instrument cluster goes off during the day. Is there any way to get it back? I can't see sh!t.

Re: Akra titanium slip on for sale, cheap!
He probably saw what they cost new and retracted! Apparently KTM considers the stock can worth $650. as the promo Akra in spring of 2016 for new leftover 2015's was valued at $350, same as the ins paid out when bike was totaled. Akra's prices are just stupid!
